Baltimore County Tennis & Pickleball Courts
April 2022
Just about everyone on the planet knows about tennis. In case you don't know, tennis is a racket sport that can be played individually against a single opponent or between two teams of two players each. Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. Ok but what is pickleball? Pickleball is a racket/paddle sport that was created by combining elements of several other racket sports. Two or four players use solid paddles to hit a perforated polymer ball over a net. The ball is much like a wiffle ball, with 26–40 round holes. Now we're both much smarter today after learning about pickleball. Nonetheless, it sounds like fun!
On Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at 6:00 pm, the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks will be hosting a virtual meeting in regards to tennis and pickleball courts. There will be a short presentation by the Rec & Parks, followed by time for questions and comments from the public.
