June is National Men's Health Month. According to Cancer.net, "Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men, except for skin cancer. In 2023, an estimated 288,300 men in the United States will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. Worldwide, an estimated 1,414,259 people were diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2020. It is the fourth most commonly diagnosed cancer in the world." The Center for Disease Control states, that thirteen percent of American men will get prostate cancer during their lifetime, and about 2 to 3 men will die from prostate cancer.


On Saturday, June 3, 2023 from 12 noon to 2:30 pm, the Baltimore County Public Library hosts the Lunch and Learn Health Equity Event: Prostate Disease. An expert medical professional presents an overview of ailments affecting the prostate and discusses the right questions to ask your doctor when diagnosed. In partnership with the Baltimore County Department of Health. Lunch precedes the presentation. Registration is required for this event and there is only 25 seats available.
